What is Microsoft 365 Copilot?
Microsoft 365 Copilot is an AI-powered productivity tool. As you might imagine it works alongside the Microsoft 365 apps like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc. It uses large language models (LLMs) and integrates the data with the Microsoft Graph and Microsoft 365 apps and services. So it has a wide scope. The obvious question is how is it different from ChatGPT?
ChatGPT vs. Microsoft 365 Copilot
ChatGPT is available as an API that can be integrated into different applications while Microsoft 365 Copilot is more suitable for providing personalized assistance and helping unleash productivity gains when working with the Microsoft 365 suite.
How could Microsoft 365 Copilot work in a practical way?
Let’s look how our social media jedi team could use Microsoft 365 Copilot in our daily work:
- Creating engaging and relevant content for our client campaigns using all the various social media platforms we manage. We could use Copilot to help us to write captions, headlines, hashtags, and more. Always based on the relevant keywords, audience, and goals.
- We can also ask Copilot to generate images, graphics, or videos to accompany our posts.
- Planning and managing our social media campaigns. Copilot can help the team to create calendars, schedules, budgets, and reports for the campaigns, using data from our Microsoft 365 apps and services. We can also ask Copilot to analyse our campaign performance, identify trends, and suggest improvements.
- We can use it for collaborating and communicating with our team and clients. Copilot can help us to create and send emails, messages, and presentations, using natural language and templates.
- Lastly, we could also ask Copilot to schedule meetings, share files, and follow up on tasks. That would be very handy for the team.

Bing Copilot
This is my first encounter with Copilot. Bing Copilot is new and makes good use of artificial intelligence.
Bing Copilot is powered by a large-scale neural network that has been trained on billions of words from various domains and genres. Apparently it can It can also generate content in multiple languages, such as English, 中文, 日本語, Español, Français, Deutsch etc, although I have not tried this function out yet.
Bing Copilot is currently in beta testing and is available for free for a limited time.
