The Real Problem Isn’t AI… It’s Sameness
Scroll any feed today and you’ll notice something strange.
- The content is polished.
- It’s structured.
- It even sounds smart.
And yet… it all feels the same.
That’s because AI has lowered the barrier to creating content, but raised the bar for standing out. When everyone has access to the same tools, the advantage shifts.
It’s no longer about who uses AI.
It’s about how human you remain while using it.
In the Social Jedi Series team we thought about this point. If you want to stand out in a world flooded with AI-generated content, here’s what actually makes the difference:
Add Your Opinion
Because neutral content is forgettable content
AI is designed to be helpful, not controversial. It leans toward safe, balanced, middle-of-the-road answers.
- But average doesn’t get remembered.
- Your opinion is what cuts through.
Instead of saying:
“AI can improve your content workflow”
Say:
“Most people are using AI wrong and it’s killing their growth”
That shift? That’s where attention lives. People don’t engage with information. They engage with perspective.
If your content doesn’t take a stance, it won’t start a conversation.
Share Real Experiences
Because lived experience beats generated knowledge
AI can summarize the internet.
But it can’t replicate your lived moments.
- What worked for you.
- What failed.
- What surprised you.
That’s your unfair advantage. Instead of:
“Consistency is important in social media”
Try:
“I posted every day for 30 days using AI—and here’s what actually happened”
Specificity builds trust. And trust drives engagement. People don’t follow perfection. They follow proof.
Inject Personality
Because people connect with people, not outputs
AI can mimic tone. But it can’t be you.
- Your phrasing.
- Your humor.
- Your way of explaining things.
That’s what makes content feel human. If your posts sound like they could’ve been written by anyone… they’ll be remembered by no one. Loosen it up as our VIP CocoDurst often says!
- Be conversational.
- Be direct.
- Be a little imperfect.
Because ironically, in an AI world, imperfection feels real, and real wins.

Break Patterns
Because attention lives in disruption
Most AI generated content follows predictable formats:
- Hook
- Value
- CTA
And while that structure works… overuse kills impact. To stand out, you need to interrupt expectations.
- Start with a bold statement.
- Write a one-line post.
- Flip a common belief.
For example: “This post has no value. And that’s the point.”
Pattern breaks force people to pause.
And in social media, pause = power.
Tell Stories AI Can’t
Because stories are your moat
AI can generate examples. But it can’t tell your story the way you experienced it. Your awkward first job moment. Your biggest mistake using AI. The post you almost didn’t publish.
- Stories create emotion. (A YouTube video “Emotional Triggers to Create Unforgettable Stories”)
- Emotion creates memory.
- Memory creates followers.
Instead of teaching: “Here’s how to use AI better”, tell: “I relied on AI too much and my content completely flopped. Here’s what I learned.”
That’s what people remember. That’s what people share.
Conclusion
If everyone has the same tools… why should anyone choose you?
AI isn’t the thing that will make you stand out. It’s the thing that will expose whether you do. Because when the playing field is level, the winners are the ones who:
- Have a voice.
- Have a perspective.
- Have something real to say.
So here’s the challenge as we like to say around here in the office at the Social Jedi Series:
The next time you use AI to create content… don’t just ask it to generate something good. Ask yourself: What can I add that AI never could?
And remember when you use AI, make it sound more human.. it helps!
Then publish that. And if it feels slightly uncomfortable… you’re probably doing it right.
