LinkedIn is adding functionality to LinkedIn Stories at a steady pace since it went live. Now they added a link feature, so the Social Jedi Series team gave it a test. Here is a recap of our experience.
How to add swipe up links
We created our content tuned to our target audience. Then we clicked the link icon at the top of the LinkedIn Stories interface. We added our link with a tracking code. It is good practice to add a tracking code.
Then we came back within 24 hours to see the results. We achieved the following results collected just before the 24 hours was up:
We are impressed with the results. The link clicks and unique viewer counts actually increased just before the 24 hour cut off. We use Sprinklr so this enabled us to view the final results because the data is available in the reporting and engagement modules beyond the cut off. In addition, we also checked the referral stats of the linked web page in Adobe analytics because our link is tagged.
Here is some guidance from LinkedIn.
Link restrictions
- You can add links to stories created from LinkedIn Pages.
- LinkedIn members cannot add links to their personal profile stories unless they have at least 5,000 connections or followers and the Follow button as the primary action on their profile (instead of Connect) can also add links.
So now you can try this out, and leave a comment below to tell us about your experience adding swipe up links to LinkedIn Stories.
